When can you photograph the aurora at Lofoten?

What decides a good night here

• At geomagnetic ~66° the aurora needs only Kp 0–1; the islands are inside the oval.
• Season is long, late September to early April, but the maritime climate is cloudy — clear-sky timing matters more than geomagnetic activity.
• Low sea horizons to the north mean even a modest arc reflects over water; scout a beach or fjord with an open north view.

Honest note: This far north the summer has no darkness and no Milky Way core — Lofoten is an autumn-to-spring aurora and winter-sky location.
